The original flavor of the Japanese hot pot"Shabu Shabu"

"Shabu shabu" or Japanese hot pot is the go-to winter dish this time of year! The vegetables and meat are accompanied by an original sauce, the "shabu shabu no tale"しゃぶしゃぶのタレ.

To enjoy this friendly dish, equip yourself with a hot plate that you place in the middle of the table and a casserole dish.

For the ingredients:
Kombu seaweed
Shiitake, shimeji and enoki mushrooms
Watercress
Leeks
Chinese cabbage
Carrots
Tofu
Thin slices of raw beef or pork - like a carpaccio.



Start by boiling water in the pot and adding the kombu seaweed. Do not eat it! Kombu is only used to add flavor to the broth.

Then add the mushrooms and vegetables. Simmer for a few moments so that the broth becomes fuller in taste. Then add the watercress and the rest of the vegetables.

Then each guest takes a thin slice of pork or beef and dips it into the broth with chopsticks, making it go back and forth. This gesture is accompanied by the expression "しゃぶしゃぶ" (shabushabu)- don't look for a meaning, there is none!


Then carry your slice of meat to a bowl in which you will add some broth, vegetables, tofu and especially the Japanese hot pot sauce しゃぶしゃぶのタレ to discover the original taste of the Japanese hot pot.



Feel free to add more sauce to your bowl to spice up the broth to your taste. You can also mix the sauce with wasabi to spice it up.

Finally, when all the vegetables and meat have been consumed, - and if you are still hungry! - you can cook noodles or add already cooked white rice to the broth.

Ingredients: Soy sauce (Japan origin), vinegar, corn syrup, spices, shiitake mushroom extract, sake, sweeteners (stevia, licorice). Sauce made in a workshop with milk, flour and soy.
